When saline efflorescence is caused by capillary humidity, do
not use RIALTO ISOCAL or RIALTO DURASIL anti-saline efflorescence
treatment (see wet
surfaces section). The treatment should be used only on
absorbent vertical surfaces. It is not intended for surfaces treated
with washable or quartz paints, plastics, enamel paints, etc.
Do not apply RIALTO ISOCAL or RIALTO DURASIL on wet surfaces since
this prevents proper product penetration.
RIALTO ISOCAL or RIALTO DURASIL prevents rain-water infiltration
and salt formation and surfacing, while allowing perfect breathability
of treated material. Even if small cracks may form after the treatment
with RIALTO ISOCAL or RIALTO DURASIL, no rain-water infiltration
will occur and consequently no saline efflorescence formation
(for example, leopard-skin effect).
RIALTO ISOCAL or RIALTO DURASIL can be used as an undercoat to
siloxane or mineral products. RIALTO DURASIL is a water-repellent
and anti-salt treatment (like RIALTO ISOCAL) with hardening properties
that make it suitable for the treatment of dusty or slightly friable
surfaces.
RIALTO ISOCAL and RIALTO DURASIL should be applied to fully saturate
the surface either using a low-pressure spray (0.5 bar) or a brush
or roller in several coats.
The chemical reaction is extremely slow and so allows deep penetration
of RIALTO ISOCAL and RIALTO DURASIL without leaving any glossy
or tacky material. The product therefore is practically invisible
and does not alter the appearance of treated material. When performing
a trial coat, keep in mind that maximum effectiveness is obtained
15-20 days after application.
