| Partial
restoration of old plaster surfaces with lime-based paints |
Substrate preparation
- Remove uneven
sections from the old plaster surface
- Thoroughly
pressure-wash the surface to be plastered
|
Finishing
- Fill and patch
cracks and holes with RIALTO MALTA GREZZA GM, a ready-to-use
wet mortar for plastering and tile-laying. It is composed of
three-month-seasoned slaked lime (made by baking river pebbles
mixed with selected siliceous sand in the correct granulometric
proportion, free of cement or any other additive) and water
vapor permeable. Mix before use with RIALTO COCCIOPESTO CC (made
from brick powder and selected crushed terracotta shingles)
to induce the hydraulic reaction which improves the properties
of the mortar (mechanical, physical and chemical strength reached
in a shorter period of time)
- Patch the plaster
surface applying three coats of RIALTO MALTA GREZZA GM
- First apply
a thin scratch coat (3-5 mm thickness) and allow to dry for
at least 24 hours
- Apply a new
scratch coat, spreading the product in layers of 1-1.5 cm thickness
until the desired thickness is obtained
- Allow each
coat to dry completely before proceeding. Drying times depend
on weather conditions and the substrate nature (at least 2-3
days)
- Thoroughly
dampen the underlying layer before applying a new one
Possible cracks can be easily fixed and restored with a sponge
trowel even after a day thanks to the high workability of the
product. Average covering capacity per 1 cm thickness:
- RIALTO MALTA GREZZA GM.....16 kg/m²
- RIALTO COCCIOPESTO CC........2 kg/m²
- Level the surface
using a sponge trowel to obtain an even "fine-finished"
plaster
Price for material
and application, excluding any scaffolds, € ............ per
