Preparation
Strip any oxidized iron rods appearing on the surface of the reinforced
concrete until all rust has been removed. Use a sander to remove
the rust and apply immediately on the iron rods RIALTO UNIVERSAL,
an anti-rust protective product. Average covering capacity: 100
ml/m². Replace the iron rods whose section has been reduced
by more than 30% and weld new ones. Patch with the cement-based
mortar RIALTO WALLCEM, mixed with 10% of RIALTO MATONAL (max thickness:
0.5 cm). RIALTO WALLCEM average covering capacity: 1.2 kg/m²
per 1mm thickness. Allow the surface to dry completely before
proceeding. On friable and dusty surfaces, apply a coat of RIALTO
STABILIZER, a hardening and insulating primer based on acrylic
and petrol resins in a solvent. Average covering capacity: 160
ml/m². When the surface is completely dry, apply a coat diluted
to 25% with water of RIALTO FINISH, in the same color as the finishing
product. Average covering capacity: 100 cl/m².
Finishing
Apply two coats, using a brush or roller and allowing at least
12 hours between first coat (diluted to not more than 10% with
water) and second coat (undiluted), of RIALTO ZIP protective coating
with weather-resistant shade, based on highly-resistant inert
minerals, such as mica, silica and quartz, a thermoplastic binder
with excellent surface adherence, water-repellent and breathable
(water vapor permeability: 35 g/m² - 24 hours, ASTM E96 Regulations).
Average covering capacity: 25 l/m².
