Preparation
Strip any oxidized iron rods appearing on the surface of the reinforced
concrete until all rust has been removed. Use a sander to remove
the rust and apply immediately on the iron rods RIALTO UNIVERSAL,
an anti-rust protective product. Average covering capacity: 100
ml/m². Replace the iron rods whose section has been reduced
by more than 30% and weld new ones. Patch with the cement-based
mortar RIALTO WALLCEM, mixed with 10% of RIALTO MATONAL (max thickness:
0.5 cm). RIALTO WALLCEM average covering capacity: 1.2 kg/m²
per 1mm thickness. Allow the surface to dry completely before
proceeding. On friable and dusty surfaces, apply a coat of RIALTO
STABILIZER, a hardening and insulating primer based on acrylic
and petrol resins in a solvent. Average covering capacity: 160
ml/m². When the surface is completely dry, apply a coat diluted
to 25% with water of RIALTO FINISH, in the same color as the finishing
product. Average covering capacity: 100 cl/m².
Finishing
Apply two coats, either using a brush or a roller and allowing
at least 8-10 hours between first and second coat, of the RIALTO
FINISH protective coating with smooth, mat and suede-like decorative
effect, a product based on inert minerals, such as mica and quartz,
a thermoplastic terpolymer binder, a fungicide-bactericide agent
and UV-ray resistant pigments. Adhesion power not lower than 8
kgf/cm², water-repellency, water vapor permeability: 30 g/m²
- 24 hours (ASTM E96 Regulations), µ=2860, Sd=0.71 m.
Average covering capacity on fine plaster: 400 g/m².
