Preparation
Strip any oxidized iron rods appearing on the surface of the reinforced
concrete until all rust has been removed. Use a sander to remove
the rust and apply immediately on the iron rods RIALTO UNIVERSAL,
an anti-rust protective product. Average covering capacity: 100
ml/m². Replace the iron rods whose section has been reduced
by more than 30% and weld new ones. Patch with the cement-based
mortar RIALTO WALLCEM, mixed with 10% of RIALTO MATONAL (max thickness:
0.5 cm). RIALTO WALLCEM average covering capacity: 1.2 kg/m²
per 1mm thickness. Allow the surface to dry completely before
proceeding. On friable and dusty surfaces, apply a coat of RIALTO
STABILIZER, a hardening and insulating primer based on acrylic
and petrol resins in a solvent. Average covering capacity: 160
ml/m². When the surface is completely dry, apply a coat diluted
to 25% with water of RIALTO FINISH, in the same color as the finishing
product. Average covering capacity: 100 cl/m².
Finishing
Apply two coats using a brush or a roller of RIALTO UNION MAT,
a breathable water-repellent washable acrylic mat finish with
weather-resistant shade, based on high chemical strength inert
minerals, such as silica and silicates, and a thermoplastic binder
with excellent surfaces adherence. Water vapor permeability: 200
g/m² - 24 hours (ASTM E96 Regulations).
Average covering capacity: 0.2 l/m². Both coats should be
diluted to 15% with water if applied by roller and to 20% if applied
by brush. Allow at least 12 hours before applying the second coat.
